Da Capo a été inspiré par le roman de Lawrence Durrell The Alexandria Quartet. Dans la courtepointe, la ville (Alexandrie) apparaît comme un lieu mythique. Une seule fenêtre est ouverte : celle du personnage central, qui construit cette ville dans son imagination. Toutes les autres portes et fenêtres sont fermées et gardent leurs secrets. Le titre est « Da Capo », un personnage du roman, mais aussi une expression musicale pour « recommencer », pour raconter les mêmes événements vécus de façon totalement différente.

Da Capo was inspired by Lawrence Durrell’s novel The Alexandria Quartet. In the quilt, the city (Alexandria) appears as a mythical place. Only one window is open: that of the central character, who is building this city in his imagination. All the other doors and windows are closed, guarding their secrets. The title is « Da Capo », a character from the novel, but also a musical expression for « starting over », to recount the same events experienced in a totally different way.
